Cross-Sound Cable Company is responsible for the environment and our employees, communities, and contractors. As such, we strive to achieve excellence in health, safety, security, and environmental performance. In 2018, we furthered our commitment through an Environmental, Health, and Safety Policy, communicated our commitments to our major contractors, and developed a stakeholder engagement plan for 2018 and 19.

CSC is actively managing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risks in its operations and advancing sustainability initiatives within the organization. We recognize that we are responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and members of our local communities. In support of these objectives, we aim to meet all applicable health and safety regulations, ensure a safe working environment for our employees and contractors, and take steps to reduce our environmental impacts over time. This includes reducing our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and waste over time and taking steps to protect local biodiversity and habitat.

In 2023, we made progress in the following areas:

• Reported no significant health & safety incidents during the reporting period
• Maintained supplier screening process to reduce supplier risk from our supply chain
• Minimized waste and installed new SF6 Density Monitors to track levels and tank integrity more accurately
• ESG considerations included in annual business plan review
