REGULATORY

Cross-Sound Cable Company operates under the review of a number of regulatory agencies. As an Electric Utility CSC ultimately falls under the oversight of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission or FERC. Reliability of Electric Utilities is specifically handled by the North American Electric Reliability Council or NERC. CSC is located in the Northeast and is therefore subject to review by the regional segment of NERC known as the Northeast Power Coordinating Council or NPCC. CSC must answer to each of these regulatory agencies in order to maintain an adequate level of compliance with rates, performance and overall reliability as part of the Bulk Electric System serving customers in New York and New England.
